Surreal: Tarantino Wedding

It’s an honor and a privilege to be involved in one of your good friends wedding. So when Cayleigh & David asked me to photograph their wedding I made sure I did what I could to set my dial to awesome. Shooting a friend’s wedding has a lot different meaning because you tend to know most of the people at the ceremony. From the moment I woke up that day till the end I knew this day was going to be something special. I believe that the point of getting a great photographer isn’t to get the shots that anyone else could get with their camera, but is to be the dramatic storyteller.
But see the power to narrate someone’s love story can be difficult. First you have to have an idea of what someone’s love looks like. With love you have this surreal feeling and surge of emotions that flow through your veins. Yet each couple’s love looks different and is unique to every couple. Sure you have all the great ingredients Boy meets Girl, but after that you find that each person’s moments are unique. I don’t really believe in a standard for wedding “formulas” having a handful of “perfect shots” but I believe in perfect moments and I believe in setting the scene for the couples to respond to each other as they always do.

I really focused on a more surreal look in this set because I really felt it was what worked in this particular event. I got some great shots and I hope you enjoy just a handful of the many that I took on this amazing day!
