Yes folks…. Its true… I love my car! I have a few car shoots that I’ll be shooting this year, but I decided I’d get a few of my beautiful car Leila (she’s so photogenic!). I asked my friend Arianna to pose with the car, which I think she did well due to the circumstances. This shoot is a little more difficult, when you want to shoot a person its something u can adjust (normally) but to get and out of a car and to find a background that adds another form of dimension to the image can be challenging! I wanted something by the water, so we drove along the pacific coast and pulled over to a few random places to take a few shots and move on. I haven’t over processed images for a while, but since I was playing with concepts I decided to really “overkill” it for fun. If you are wondering yes the scenery is real in all of these images, I try not to ever add scenery to my images. Overall, I had a great time just learning more about another style of photography; the great things about cars are that you can get some great angles with them! My early suggestions I’d give you for shooting your own car would be this:
1. Clean your car out before your start! Just like you want to look good for a photoshoot , do your car justice and give it a bath! (unless you are a truck or looking to do an offroad shoot!)
2. Find a great place to take pictures of your car! Don’t just take one in your driveway! Go for a drive, get lost a little, and find something that can add some flair to your photograph!
3. Have fun! Experiment with angles, watch your depth of field, crop out to only display what u want, and don’t get frustrated if your images don’t turn out perfect! Great pictures take time!
